Sheetmetal Fabricator

Milspec has a position in our Sheetmetal Fabrication Department. This role has the primary function of manufacturing sheet metal and fabricated/machined parts and components from production drawings to the required quality standard. This position is full time casual initially, but may lead to a permanent position.

The successful applicant must be trade qualified, with an ability to competently perform work as follows:

  • Weld both ferrous and non ferrous metals using Oxy, Arc, MIG and TIG welding processes.
  • Grind, polish, pickle welds as required.
  • Adhere to welding standards and procedures.
  • Ability to complete the work independently.
  • Produce high quality components using hand tools and general industrial machines including drill presses, CNC guillotines, brake presses, punches, etc.

Experience with various quality accreditations would be advantageous, as Milspec has ISO 9001 and AS 9100 quality accreditations, with stringent paperwork requirements.

In addition to this, qualifications or experience in Lean Manufacturing would be regarded favourably.

Electro-Mechanical Assembly Employee

As a result of winning a large Defence contract, Milspec has a requirement for additional employees in the Electrical Assembly Department.

The successful candidates will have experience in the following:

  • High reliability hand soldering
  • Wiring
  • Cable assembly
  • Previously worked in a factory environment
  • Mechanical aptitude
